MEMPHIS, TN

We all tend to forgive companies that we admire a lot quicker than companies we do not admire. The trust and confidence that Americans had in the stability of their financial system and its overseers allowed for the dramatic buildup to the current economic crisis. Now Wall Street will have to rebuild that confidence, and they will find a more suspicious, much tougher customer as it tries to recover.
