Daily News: A Different Divvying of DV Cases
(2009-11-10)
(WKNO) - The Shelby County District Attorney's Office is changing how it divvies-up domestic violence cases among its prosecutors. It used to be one prosecutor handled a case in general sessions court, but passed it to another prosecutor if the case went to a grand jury, who passed it on to another prosecutor if the case moved to criminal court. That old method is called horizontal prosecution, the new method is vertical. Bill Dries covered the shift for the Memphis Daily News. Eleanor Boudreau spoke with him, and he offered this analogy: © Copyright 2010, WKNO
