Listeners and underwriters providing matching grants met the $100,000 goal, and these contributions go into the station's operating budget for business expenses, like the website www.wkms.org that the station maintains year round for listening to its two channels online.

Murray State's listener supported public radio service 91.3 FM, WKMS, is fundraising for operational support as it does twice annually. Its autumn goal is $100,000 in community contributions, and listeners have gone over the half-way mark towards that goal by mail, by web pledging and through Racerthon calling on behalf of the station. The station's on-air fundraising begins Saturday, October 24th and volunteers are welcome to help in the studios located at the University.
WKMS introduces Friday Night LiveMurray, KY(2009-09-23)Murray, KY- A new, locally produced music program, Friday Night Live premiers on Murray State's listener supported public radio service, WKMS, this Friday, September 25th. Each week Friday Night Live will showcase great music, including a variety of classical, jazz, and acoustic performances, recorded live from several regional venues.
