MURRAY, KY
(wkms) -
A new Kentucky regulation taking effect next year will help the Commonwealth track its alternative schools in an effort to find out more about at-risk students. The new rules set minimum requirements for programs that target at-risk children. They also stipulate the programs meet or exceed the assistance found in traditional classrooms. The rules also standardize accounting procedures and student data collection, processes differing from district to district. Education Department spokesperson Lisa Gross says the new rules are the first comprehensive regulation of Kentucky's alternative schools.
