MURRAY, KY(wkms) -
Tennessee's Bureau of Investigation says they've found a massive and sophisticated marijuana growing operation in a remote northwest corner of Obion County. Officials say they think it could be one of the largest ever found in the state. TBI spokeswoman Kristin Helm says acres of marijuana were discovered in the Chickasaw Bluff area between Reelfoot Lake and Lake Isom. Agents from the Governor's Task Force on Marijuana Eradication were on-site Wednesday to clear the plants. Helm says the operation had a retention pond, tunnels for generators as well as living and cooking areas. Helm says due to the terrain, they don't know how many plants there are. The bureau reports no arrests have yet been made and the removal of the plants could take several days.
