A semi-truck ran over a horse-drawn buggy on Fort Campbell Boulevard in Hopkinsville Friday night, killing one and injuring three others. The driver reportedly reached for a cigarette taking his eyes off the road, veered into the right shoulder, and hit the buggy. The accident killed 3-year-old Barber Smoker, and injured the other three passengers. Lifeflight transported two of them to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. One of two horses pulling the buggy also died. The semi driver is being held in the Christian County Jail on charges of murder and DUI.
