Clarksville Non-Profit Funding
(2011-05-18)
(wkms) - Clarksville, Tennessee's Nonprofit Agency Committee yesterday proposed to the City Council to divvy up $110,000 among 14 organizations. The proposal is the newly-formed committee's first, ending years of indecision on the council floor over which organization to fund and why. The Clarksville Leaf Chronicle reports if the council adopts the proposal unchanged, many of those 14 groups would receive city funding for the first time, while others that have been funded in the past would receive nothing. Two of those include the Clarksville-Montgomery County Humane Society and the Salvation Army Shelter.
