Runoffs OK'd for Clarksville mayor, City Council
(wkms) - Clarksville, Tennessee's Charter Revisions Committee has approved sweeping changes to how and when city elections occur. The committee Tuesday approved moving the city general election to August and mayoral runoffs to November if no candidate receives more than 50 percent of the vote. The committee also voted to apply runoffs to city council races and to move the city mayoral elections to the same years as U-S presidential races. According the Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle, the move is designed to avoid confusion with the county mayoral contest. © Copyright 2016, wkms
