A hearing to determine if convicted Heath High School shooter Michael Carneal was too mentally ill to file a timely appeal has ended. The Paducah Sun reports US District Judge Thomas Russell is expected to rule on the case in early August. Former Carneal psychologist Kathleen O'Connor took the stand Friday as a rebuttal witness, testifying she had no doubt of her paranoid schizophrenia diagnosis. Two therapists testified earlier last week they believe Carneal had milder forms of mental illness. © Copyright 2013, wkms
