Paducah Tilghman's Window Debate Ends
(2010-07-01)
(wkms) - Paducah Tilghman High School's fa ade will look much the same after renovations replace the original steel windows with custom aluminum ones. Superintendent Randy Greene tells the Paducah Sun the custom windows come at a premium, costing about $80,000 more than regular stock windows. School board members have debated for months over which type of window to use. Member Bill Black has spearheaded support for the custom job, stressing the importance of not changing the 55-year-old school's exterior look. Other board members felt using stock windows was a non-issue and not easily noticed. The windows are expected to be installed this fall.
