Melvin Henley Says He Won't Seek Re-Election
Rep. Melvin Henley
(wkms) - Kentucky House Fifth District Representative Melvin Henley says he will not run for re-election in 2012. Henley, a Democrat from Murray, first won the seat in 2004 against Robert "Buddy" Buckingham and has served Calloway and part of Trigg County for the past eight years. Henley says he hopes his decision will serve as an example to other representatives around the state.

"I believe in term limits, everyone should have a mandatory eight years and then out, and if I believe that then I should get out."

Henley says he will continue to serve the Fifth District until his term ends next year in December.
