BARLOW, KY
(wkms) -
A Barlow retailer accused of selling locally-illegal bath salts and synthetic marijuana pleaded not guilty in Ballard County District Court Monday. Ali Abukhdair faces charges he sold the synthetic drugs from his Cut-Mart convenience store. He is scheduled to be back in court at the end of this month. WPSD-TV reports Abukhdair is the first person arrested under a new Ballard County ordinance banning the sale of bath salts, which have led to several area overdoses. People abuse the product by snorting it, which apparently gives a meth or cocaine-like high. If convicted, Abukhdair could face up to 30 days in jail and a $500 fine.© Copyright 2013, wkms
