Bluegrass Legends May Have Played Final Reunion
(2011-09-19)
(wkms) - An annual gathering of legendary bluegrass musicians in Owensboro may have played its final encore. The International Bluegrass Museum has organized reunions of bluegrass pioneers and members of Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys for years, but museum officials say it's getting harder to get commitments. Many are have a hard time because of age. Earl Scruggs, Bobby Osborne, and Jesse McReynolds, half of the bluegrass duo Jim and Jessie, are all in their 80s. The reunions grew out of the museum's "Legends Concerts," which opened the River of Music Party bluegrass festival every year since 2004. © Copyright 2013, wkms
