1st District U.S. Representative Ed Whitfield is visiting the Jackson Purchase today for a series of public events. This morning he presented a 4 million grant to the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet in Mayfield. The funds will be used to create about 300 temporary jobs for dislocated workers to assist with clean-up and recovery efforts resulting from spring storms. Ahead on Whitfield's itinerary this evening is Relay for Life events in Marshall County and Princeton where he will meet and walk with participants.© Copyright 2013, wkms
