Floodplain management training will be offered to all County Judge Executives, Floodplain Managers, and Kentucky Association of Mitigation Managers on Friday, March 15. The training is free of charge and includes lunch. The morning session focuses on Floodplain Management 101 and the new National Flood Insurance Program reforms. The afternoon session includes CHAMPS (Commonwealth Hazard Assessment and Mitigation Planning System) training to help local and state officials with hazard mitigation efforts, including writing local plans, obtaining grants, and completing projects.
