Geraldine Marshal, co-author of "The Homeplace History and Recipe Book: History, Folklore, and Recipes from Life on an Upper Southern Farm a Decade before The Civil War," will sign books at The Homeplace from 10AM to 4PM on March 2 and March 30. In addition to the book signing on March 2, visitors can talk with Homeplace staff while they cure pork in the smokehouse and make sausage. These recipes can be found in the recipe book. On March 30, a traditional 1850s wedding will take place featuring the wedding cake recipe also included in the recipe book. For more information, visit www.lbl.org.
