Haitian Doctor Discusses Earthquake Devastation
(2010-01-29)
(WKAR) -

The devastating earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12th spurred Doctor Sidney Coupet to action.

Born in the U-S but raised in Haiti, Coupet founded a group called Doctors United for Haiti last year. It's aim is to address a long-term plan for his homeland's health care.

Coupet, a second-year resident in internal medicine at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania, arrived in Haiti with a friend two days after the earthquake. He treated patients for ten days.

During a visit to Michigan State University today, Dr. Coupet spoke with WKAR's Scott Pohl.
