This summer the Grand Ledge Area District Library will host its' author series in our historic meeting room, right on Jefferson Street, with the doors and windows open and plants inside to create an old fashioned front porch feel, but with air conditioning available and no bugs! It runs every other Thursday night from June 19th through July 31, from 6 to 7 p.m. We welcome Gemini. Born in Budapest, Hungary in 1949, the twin brothers emigrated with their parents after the 1956 Revolution and lived in Israel for three years before moving to the United States. Living in several countries as they were growing up gave San and Laz a chance to see and appreciate many different ways of life, as well as exposing them to the music and instruments of various cultures. Gemini has been performing since 1973 and are now playing music for their third—or is it fourth?—generation of young fans and families. From their home base in Ann Arbor, Michigan, San and Laz have performed to enthusiastic audiences at concert halls, festivals, community centers and elementary schools throughout the US and Canada. In 1997 Gemini added a new and very exciting facet to their music as they began performing with symphony orchestras, including the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and the Kansas City Symphony.
