In The Tri States - April 2011
(wium) - A look back at the top stories and features from the Tri States Public Radio news department from April 2011.

Western Illinois University held a groundbreaking ceremony for the long-awaited Performing Arts Center on the Macomb campus. A WIU employee discovered a document on campus that includes an authentic Abraham Lincoln signature, and the effort to save Keokuk's "buried treasure" apparently came to an end.

Opponents came out in force for an Illinois EPA hearing on whether to renew a pollution discharge permit for the coal mine southwest of Industry.

News Director Rich Egger talked to retiring Macomb Mayor Mick Wisslead about his eight years in office, and Southeast Iowa Bureau Chief Jason Parrott took a look at how the economy is impacting Keokuk Area Hospital.

In addition, Egger profiled a local artist who heats, hammers, saws and bends old stuff into something new.
