(wium) - Jason Parrott talks to representatives from three art centers in southeast Iowa and northeast Missouri about events coming up in the next few months.

The first guest is Brian Riggs with the Fort Madison Area Arts Association. The "Budding Artists" exhibition runs through the month of January. A reception is scheduled for Jan. 22 at 2:00pm at the FMAAA's gallery at 825 Avenue G.

Riggs says, following the "Budding Artists" reception, the FMAAA will honor Paula Howard with a celebration of life. Howard, who passed away earlier this week, played a key role in the creation and continuation of the organization.

Riggs says February's show is the return of the Iowa watercolor traveling show.

The second guests are Todd Snyder and Suzanne Brueck with the Burlington Art Guild.

Works by Burlington artist Barbara Cave are on display through the end of February at the Burlington Art Center at 301 Jefferson Street. Cave's watercolor and oil paintings focus on landscapes and portraits of her family. A reception is scheduled for Jan. 23 at 2:00pm with an artist talk by Cave to take place at about 2:15.

The Iowa watercolor traveling show will move from Fort Madison to Burlington in March. That show will remain in Burlington through the end of April.

The final quests are Jennifer Bock-Nelson and Lampo Leong. Bock-Nelson is the director of the Mabee Gallery at Culver Stockton College in Canton, MO. Leong is an art professor from the University of Missouri-Columbia whose work is currently on display at CSC.

Bock-Nelson says the gallery features works of visiting artists like Leong and of CSC art students.

Leong's paintings and calligraphy will be on display through February 17.
