Shop Talk - February 16
(wium) - The panelists discuss the coverage (or lack of coverage) of the primaries for Illinois lieutenant governor.

Scott Lee Cohen won the Democratic Party nomination, but in the days afterward it was revealed he had been accused of domestic battery by an ex-girlfriend. His ex-wife also accused him of abuse.

Cohen eventually resigned from the ticket.

The panelists wonder why reporters waited until after the election to write about Cohen's past. The ballot contained high-profile races for governor and the US Senate, but didn't reporters have a responsibility to release information about this statewide candidate - before the election - if they knew about Cohen's past?
