NE Missouri Bridges Included In State Plan
(2008-09-22)
More than 800 bridges will be repaired or replaced in Missouri.
JEFFERSON CITY, MO (wium) - Missouri's plan to repair or replace more than 800 bridges includes dozens in the Northeast corner of the state.

Spokesman Bob Brendel says MODOT has identified more than 75 bridges in District 3, including 15 in Clark, Lewis, and Scotland Counties.

He says bridges are rated on a scale of 1-9, with 9 being the best.

13 of the 15 bridges set to be repaired or replaced in Clark, Lewis, and Scotland Counties have ratings of 3 or 4.

Brendel says bridges are closed if they receive a rating of 2.

He says the timeline for the project is still being determined.

Brendel expects several bridges in Northeast Missouri to be in among the first 100 sent out for bid.
