"Divided We Fail" Coming To Southeast Iowa
(2007-06-27)
(wium) - A nationwide effort is underway to make sure the presidential candidates are talking about health care and financial security.

AARP is leading the Divided We Fail campaign into Southeast Iowa this week.

Meetings are scheduled in Mount Pleasant this evening and in Keokuk and Burlington tomorrow.

Volunteer Bill Cameron says health care and financial security, in particular Social Security, have been placed on the back-burner by those in Washington DC.

He says young voters must take the lead in bringing those issues to the fore-front because they will be affected by them in the future.

Cameron says the meetings will include presentations and round-table discussions.
