SEIA School Seeks Public Input
Central Lee has identified two projects as upcoming priorities.
Henriksen says the district would like to replace the current heating and air system at the K-8 building. "Our high school made a conversion, several years ago, to geo-thermal. That has worked tremendously as we have seen significant savings in electricity and propane."
Henriksen says the district is also considering the purchase of a new laptop computer for every high school student. He says that could be extended to younger students, if the cost allows.
A public input session will be held Wednesday evening. Henriksen says a decision could be finalized as early as the school board's March 9 meeting. © Copyright 2009, wium

Superintendent John Henriksen says the Central Lee School District receives about $600,000/year, through the penny tax, for infrastructure or technology upgrades. He says that number could go up because the district is a year away from taking advantage of the statewide local option sales tax.Central Lee has identified two projects as upcoming priorities.
