Henderson County to Help Gulfport
County Board Chair Marty LaFary says the town will soon be going through the mitigation process. LaFary says the process will help Gulfport plan for the future and it is important to go through the mitigation process and not let it slip by.
FEMA conducts the mitigation process to determine the best way to minimize the damage caused by a future disaster. LaFary says the county will not make decisions for the town. Rather, it will assist Gulfport and help point the town in the right direction.

The Henderson County Board will help a small river town oversee decisions made regarding its future. The Village of Gulfport was basically wiped out during this summer's flooding.
