Documents Will be Drafted for Macomb's Parks

MACOMB, IL (wium) - Three documents will outline who maintains and operates Macomb's City parks. Two-three year intergovernmental agreements will be drafted for the Park Board and City Council. One is for the operation of Spring Lake and another for the other parks in the system.

Park Board Attorney Bill Poncin says the third agreement is an ordinance to turn over the operation and maintenance of Chandler Park to the City. Poncin says the city had previously turned that over to the Park District and the ordinance would revers that.

Poncin says the city has already taken over the operation and maintenance of Chandler Park, but the ordinance had not been updated to reflect that. Poncin says the intergovernmental agreements could be done early next week.
