The city is working with a consulting firm out of Columbia, Missouri on a vision for the downtown and on a development strategy.
Special Place Development's President Randy Gray says his firm's preliminary report identifies improvement opportunities in residential and riverfront development, recreational trails, new construction, and existing building restoration.
Gray says his firm will gather community input on the preliminary report and use that information to prepare a final development strategy.
He says that could be presented to the public in about one month.
