Based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Divapalooza is an ensemble of three singers backed up by guitar, bass, drums and keyboard. Audience members might feel they are watching Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin and Bette Midler all together on one stage. Janelle Lauer tears it up as the expansive rhythm and blues powerhouse; Jane Pini is the embodiment of a true ’60s rock and roll acid queen; and Lynne Rothrock hits the perfect balance between elegant, beautiful vocals and saucy, hilarious stage banter. |
