Carol Atkins INTERLOCHEN PUBLIC RADIO (Interlochen Public Radio) - When Carol Atkins was a student at U of M in the 1940s she was told she couldn't study international business because, silly - you're a girl! Instead she stayed stateside, became a journalist, author, playwright, and an active member of the National Organization for Women since its earliest days. Today the Manistee woman's granddaughter is in business, working overseas.
