Peshawbestown Election
INTERLOCHEN PUBLIC RADIO
(Interlochen Public Radio) -
Tribal judges in Peshawbestown will decide whether to toss out election results for the highest seat in the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians. The lawsuit is over the Election Board's handling of an election complaint against Derek Bailey - who challenged incumbent Tribal Chairman Bob Kewaygoshkum. The Election Board admits the complaint wasn't handled well. But officials say there's no proof the election was affected. IPR's Peter Payette attended the hearing.
