New food rescue launches in Traverse region
TRAVERSE CITY

Northern Michigan social workers say need for basics, including food, has surged since last summer. In many cases they report that donations have also increased. And one group is trying another approach. Since October Food Rescue of Northwest Michigan has been quietly rescuing good food, once destined only to feed a landfill.
