New Health Center Opening at Ashley High School
(2008-08-18)
WILMINGTON, NC
(whqr) -
Wilmington Health Access for Teens, or WHAT, is opening its third school-based health center. It will serve more than 15-hundred students at Ashley High School.
WHAT spokesperson Joy Grady says healthy students do better in school.
"Having those services on site, easy accessible by students and their parents, helps students stay in class, stay engaged in the school; and also helps parents who find it difficult to leave their work and make appointments."
WHAT also manages health centers at New Hanover High School and Mary S. Mosley Performance Learning Center, formally known as Lakeside High School.
