WILMINGTON, NC (whqr) - Area universities and colleges say they're seeing record enrollments.

Cape Fear Community College says enrollment is at an all time high, up nearly 10% from last year.

The college's preliminary data show the economy is driving students into technical and vocational courses.

The demand is so great that Cape Fear Community College says it's been turning away a large number of students.

Across town UNCW says it will be welcoming a record number of students with demand for on-campus housing on the rise.
