WILMINGTON, NC (whqr) - The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office says it found the man suspected of shooting a detention officer with the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office.

Anthony Antwand Bowen was found in a wooded area in Onslow County Thursday where he had committed suicide.

Tarica Ann Pulliam was shot several times outside her apartment Wednesday morning.

Bowen was Pulliam's ex-boyfriend and the main suspect in her death.
