Did you know that Einstein considered Mozart to be his “best friend?” Often the great physicist
turned to the music of Mozart and took his violin in hand to work through a problem he was trying
to solve. “Einstein: Speaking of Mozart” infuses quotes from original letters and writings with the
music of Mozart to offer a human glimpse into the lives of the two inspiring historical figures.
Duke University’s Ciompi Quartet joined by CMW Artist in Residence, pianist Barbara McKenzie,
and guest violist Scott Rawls, open the season with a celebration of the incomparable musical
genius, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Featured works include the Piano Quartet in G minor,
Piano Sonatas K. 330 and 333 and selections from Mozart’s late String Quintets K. 515, K.
