Bush Names Acting Highway Safety Chief

The White House said Thursday that David Kelly will serve as
acting administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration.
Kelly had served as the chief of staff to outgoing administrator
Nicole Nason, who is departing this month after leading the agency
for more than two years.
NHTSA (NIT'sa) is closely watched by the auto industry because
it regulates auto safety and issues gas mileage requirements for
new vehicles.
Kelly is a native of Cornwall, New York.
