Benefit for Shooting Victims Raises Thousands
victims of a shooting on the Wisconsin-Michigan border raised more
than $73,800 for their families.
About 8,000 people attended Sunday's free concert in memory of
17-year-old Tiffany Pohlson, 18-year-old Anthony Spigarelli and
19-year-old Bryan Mort.
The three Michigan teens were killed when a gunman opened fire
July 31 at a popular swimming spot on the Menominee River.
Thirty-eight-year-old Scott J. Johnson of Kingsford has been
charged with three counts of first-degree intentional homicide in
Wisconsin.
Event organizer Caroline Sullivan says donations are still being
counted and accepted, but more than $73,800 had been received by
Monday morning.
