CAMPUS MUSEUM-SEARCH
computer equipment and documents from the University of Michigan.
The search occurred last week in the research wing of the Museum
of Zoology. An affidavit to justify the search has been sealed in
Detroit federal court.
But another court document says the government was seeking
evidence in a case involving the Lacey Act against wildlife
trafficking. Fish and Wildlife Service agent Ken Adams says he
can't comment on the probe.
University spokeswoman Kelly Cunningham says the government is
investigating whether proper paperwork was attached to research
specimens when they arrived at campus. She had no other
information.
