Border Security USA (wgvu) - HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - U.S. Customs and Border
Protection is opening a new air and marine branch this week at
Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Macomb County.
The Great Lakes Air and Marine Branch at the base in Harrison
Township is the fifth such branch along the U.S. border with
Canada. A dedication ceremony is scheduled for Friday.
The branch is part of an effort to improve security along the
border throughout the Great Lakes region. Aircraft and boats that
are a part of the branch will help target human and narcotics
smuggling.
