Obama Visits Michigan
(2008-08-04)
(wgvu) - Barack Obama campaigns in Michigan today
and plans to talk about energy and the economy.
About 1,000 people are expected to hear the Democratic
presidential candidate this morning at the Lansing Center.
It's the Illinois senator's first 2008 campaign visit to
Michigan's capital.
Obama says he wants to tax oil companies' windfall profits and
use some of the money to help motorists pay for more expensive
gasoline.
He says he also wants to use $50 billion to help jump-start job
creation and help local communities struggling in the economic
downturn.
