Marinette Shooting
(2008-08-01)
(wgvu) - Authorities are searching northeastern
Wisconsin for a camouflaged gunman who fatally shot three people
from Michigan and wounded a fourth.
Marinette County Sheriff Jim Kanikula says two of the bodies had
not been removed this morning for fear the shooter still was in the
area just over the state line from Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
The gunman had emerged yesterday afternoon from woods near a
train bridge on the Menominee River outside Niagara and opened fire
on a group of nine young adults gathered to swim.
Kanikula says Tiffany Pohlson, Anthony Spigarelli and Bryan Mort
were believed shot to death with an assault rifle. Daniel Louis
Gordon was wounded.
Road blocks are set up in the area and an unknown number of
homes have been evacuated.
