GREEN CLEANING
The Clorox Company to promote eco-friendly products.
But the deal doesn't wash with some Michigan members of the
environmental group.
Leaders of the Sierra Club's nine-county group that includes
Traverse City have resigned to protest the deal. They say even
though Clorox has begun making some "green" cleansers, it's still
making bleach and other products that include toxic chemicals.
But the club's national leaders defend the deal. They say it
will make eco-friendly household cleansers more widely available
and affordable for consumers. And they say the financial
arrangement won't cause them to go easy on Clorox or any other
corporation.
