UP 911
agreement to create a regional 911 dispatch authority for the
entire Upper Peninsula.
The Marquette County Board approved the interlocal agreement
Tuesday, which officials say is a first step that creates a
framework for other counties to join.
All 15 counties in the Upper Peninsula can choose to join the
authority. Gov. Jennifer Granholm must approve the agreement.
Currently, the U.P. is home to a regional dispatch center at the
Michigan State Police's Negaunee post as well as seven 911 dispatch
