Murder for Hire
(wgvu) - An Ohio woman is to be sentenced next
month after admitting to hiring someone for $1,000 to kill a
16-year-old Berrien County girl she believed was having an affair
with her husband.
Forty-five-year-old Carolyn Ross of Grove City, Ohio, area
pleaded guilty Friday in Berrien County Trial Court to a state
charge of solicitation of murder.
A federal charge of conspiracy to commit murder for hire was
dropped in exchange for the plea.
The county prosecutor's office has recommended a prison term of
nine to 15 years when Ross is sentenced on July 14.
Chrissy Satterfield was shot to death at her grandmother's house
in August 1996.
The two hit men are serving life sentences.
Investigators broke open the case in 2005 after matching a
fingerprint found at the murder scene.
