Officer Death
(wgvu) - A Saginaw County police officer who
survived grave injuries in a drug-bust shootout has died from head
injuries he sustained in a freak accident.
The Saginaw News says Saginaw Township police Detective Michael
Cohee died about noon Monday at a Midland hospital. The 37-year-old
was taken to the hospital Saturday night after falling out of a
golf cart at a motorcycle rally at the Midland County Fairgrounds.
Cohee was a nine-year veteran of the force. He was off-duty and
a passenger in the cart when the driver made a sharp turn.
Cohee recovered from a nearly fatal gunshot wound to his abdomen
during a 2003 shootout at a Saginaw drug house.
