Burned Body
(wgvu) - Authorities say a Cross Village man
whose charred remains were found inside a burning car last month
apparently died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
Emmet County Sheriff Pete Wallin says that's what a pathologist
listed as the preliminary cause in the death of 49-year-old Michael
Louis Keller.
Firefighters were notified before dawn May 24 that a vehicle was
on fire behind a residence. After extinguishing the flames, they
found the body inside.
Wallin tells the Petoskey News-Review that no signs of foul play
have turned up. Police reports will be sent to the county
prosecutor for further review.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
