Gun Smuggling Arrests USA (wgvu) - DETROIT (AP) - U.S. and Canadian authorities have arrested seven
people and seized nearly 40 weapons following an eight-month gun
smuggling investigation.
Windsor police say in a release that the probe targeted couriers
moving firearms through Windsor toward Toronto.
Two Windsor residents were arrested last week and have been
arraigned on multiple charges including conspiracy to traffic
firearms. Five others were arrested in Detroit.
Canadian investigators also have seized 27 semiautomatic
handguns or machine pistols and 235 rounds of ammunition. Another
10 firearms were seized in Detroit.
An ATF spokesman says the investigation is continuing in the
United States.
