Michigan Gas Prices MICHIGAN (wgvu) - AAA Michigan says Marquette has become
Michigan's first metro area where the average price of regular
unleaded gasoline has topped the $4 mark.
The auto club said Thursday the average price in the Upper
Peninsula city was $4.03 per gallon. The statewide average is
$3.94, an increase of more than 3 cents since the beginning of the
week.
A number of other metro areas are flirting with the $4 level.
Ann Arbor, Benton Harbor, Detroit, Flint, the Grand
Rapids-Muskegon-Holland area, Jackson, Lansing and East Lansing,
the Saginaw-Bay City-Midland area and Traverse City all have
average prices exceeding $3.90 a gallon.
AAA says it surveys 2,800 Michigan gas stations daily to compile
its averages.
