(wgvu) - A LAWYER FOR THE DETROIT CITY COUNCIL HAS
OFFICIALLY ASKED GOVERNOR GRANHOLM TO REMOVE INDICTED MAYOR KWAME
KILPATRICK FROM OFFICE.
WILLIAM GOODMAN WALKED INTO THE ROMNEY BUILDING IN LANSING TO
DELIVER DOCUMENTS SEEKING KILPATRICK'S OUSTER.
GOODMAN SAYS HE BELIEVES THE GOVERNOR WILL FIND MERIT IN THE
COUNCIL'S RECOMMENDATION.
THE COUNCIL VOTED 5-4 LAST WEEK TO ASK GRANHOLM TO REMOVE
KILPATRICK FOR MISCONDUCT IN A WHISTLE-BLOWERS' SETTLEMENT.
THE COUNCIL ALSO IS FOLLOWING PROVISIONS OF THE CITY CHARTER TO
OUST KILPATRICK, WHO FACES PERJURY AND OTHER CHARGES.
