Hispanic population rose by 1.4 million over a year's time to 46
million as of last July.
The report says 15 percent of the nation's 300 million people
are Hispanic.
It says the Hispanic population grew 28 percent between 2000 and
2007.
Hispanics are only 4 percent of Michigan's population -- 400,000
out of 10 million.

A new federal Census report says the U.S.Hispanic population rose by 1.4 million over a year's time to 46
million as of last July.
The report says 15 percent of the nation's 300 million people
are Hispanic.
It says the Hispanic population grew 28 percent between 2000 and
2007.
Hispanics are only 4 percent of Michigan's population -- 400,000
